The first members officially joined on June 21, 2005. They were Carla, W.R. “Tre” III and Ashton M. Norful; LaShaunn Tappler; Dallas, Cordelia, Dallas Jr., and Gabrielle Scott; Bradford, Angela, Bradford Jr., and Barbara Armstrong; April Davis; Miguel Calhoun; Miguel and Tierra Goodum; and Karen Jones.
It was a very moving and powerful embarking upon the life of God’s chosen church, Victory Cathedral Worship Center (VCWC). In an effort to allow the members an opportunity to take part in the development of the church, Pastor Smokie gave out a form that outlined the importance of a name, according to the Bible. The form then asked the members to offer suggestions from a multiple choice of endings: Victory Cathedral a.) Worship Center b.) Church c.) of Bolingbrook d.) Christian Center.
After prayer and consideration, Pastor Smokie Norful was convinced that Worship Center best described the mission and vision of the church. Thus, Victory Cathedral Worship Center became the name of the ministry.
Providing Hope, Healing and Empowerment is mission of Victory Cathedral Worship Center. The ultimate purpose of that mission is to leave a Legacy of Victory that can spiritually and tangibly be passed on from generation to generation. This year, as we celebrate 15 years of Victory, we would like you to partner with us in building a Legacy.
Your gift during our Anniversary Celebration will specifically help us to build our new
Technical Training Center for our students. A state of the art facility designed to equip our youth and adults in our community with S.T.E.A.M. (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, & Math) education, digital media training and much more.
